Kolkata: A new Bengali year 1423 begins today, which
is called Poila Boisakh; the first day of the first year of Bengali month
Boisakh.
For all
Bengalis, it’s a festival, People has done their shopping buying clothes for
near and dear ones. Sumptuous meals, sweets, outing and prayer to the almighty
seeking his blessings; all these are on cards.
It’s
election season—voting is on. Political parties and its leaders are doing their
best to woo the voters. With summer singing everyone with its unbearable heat,
Kolkata’s temperature is revolving around 40 degrees. If that not all,
yesterday’s quake also gave some jittery to Bengalis.
Anyways, now
everything seems fine, and Bengalis are ready to enjoy this day. Yes, rising
heat can force them to stay indoors; but that can hardly dent their spirits.

and spread happiness and peace everywhere; welcome 1423!
