6 Killed in Himachal Bus Accident

At least six people were killed and around 21 injured after a bus rolled down a 250- feet deep gorge in Himachal Pradesh's Sirmaur District on Thursday.
The mishap occurred at around 6.30 p.m. at a place called Pajjhar (200 kilometres from Shimla) when a bus going from Solan to Chambi Dhar fell into a gorge.
The 21 injured have been shifted to a hospital in Solan, while five critically injured have been sent to PGI in Chandigarh.

Kanhaiya Taken To Undisclosed Destination

A team of Delhi Police took JNUSU president Kanhaiya Kumar, arrested in connection with a case of Sedition to an undisclosed location after he was sent to one day police custody, from Tihar jail.
“The student leader was moved out of Tihar jail at around 8.30 pm for questioning,” a senior police officer said without disclosing the location where Kanhaiya was taken by the cops.
The police had applied for the production warrant of Kumar yesterday on the ground that he was needed to be confronted with the other two JNU students Umar Khalid and Anirban Bhattacharya in view of the discripencies in their statements regarding the controversial JNU event.
Kanhaiya’s counsel while opposing the police custody said that there was no connection between Kumar and the other two students arrested in the case as they belong to different student wings.
The police had arrested Kumar on February 12, a day after a case of sedition and criminal conspiracy was registered at Vasant Kunj (North) Police Station in connection with an event in the varsity’s campus in which anti-national slogans were allegedly raised.

Mohun Bagan's Floodlight Inaugurated After 35 Years

After a long span of 35 years, Mohun Bagan’s floodlight was inaugurated on Thursday by State Government Sports Minister, Mr. Aroop Biswas. On the same day, Mohun Bagan plays their U-19 IFA Shield match against DSK Liverpool FCI Academy under lights.
Earlier, 35 years ago, Indian Chamber of Commerce inaugurated the flood lights on occasion of Mohun Bagan vs FC Tatabanya match but the officials failed to maintain it and those lights became useless. Then Mohun Bagan officials handed it over to the then State Government. But the then State Government also did not take any measures to maintain it too.
The present ruling party took an initiative to light up the floodlights and they did it. Mohun Bagan Secretary, later quoted as saying, “As we have told earlier, The next season’s CFL matches will be played in our home ground under lights.”
All renowned persons like Utpal Ganguly, Subrata Dutta, Chuni Goswami, PK Banerjee were presented in this ceremony.
