Jalpaiguri : 11 officials out of those who will be on duty for conducting
Sunday’s voting process fell ill before reaching their scheduled polling
stations.
These officials have been admitted to the Jalpaiguri District Hospital.
Doctors have said that though all of them are stable, yet the reserved vote
officials has been sent to the booths.
The officials, after reaching Jalpaiguri’s Polytechnic College DCRC,
started feeling sick. At first the medical team at the DCRC treated them. After
that they were shifted to Jalpaiguri’s District Hospital. The district’s chief
health officer Prakash Mridha said that maximum of the officials have shown
signs of high blood pressure and high blood sugar. They are undergoing treatment
at the hospital.
