Kolkata:
England wicketkeeper batsman Jos Buttler has lavished praise on his Mumbai
Indians captain Rohit Sharma for displaying a calm demeanour during their
six-wicket win over Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League clash at
Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
Mumbai
bounced back from their defeat in the tournament opener after chasing down the
target of 188 with five balls remaining, thanks to Rohit's unbeaten knock of 84
and Buttler's quick-fire 41 off 22 balls.
"It's
great to have Rohit at the other end. He's a very calm character. He had
everything under control, and the way he was playing he obviously had a lot of
confidence that he will be there till the end and win the game," said
Buttler in a post-match press conference.
"That
obviously rubbed off on me that he was in such good form and was so calm, I
think that got the adrenaline going. It really settled me down," the
flamboyant batsman added.
Earlier,
Kolkata relied on captain Gautam Gambhir (64), Manish Pandey (52) and some late
flourish from Andre Russell (36) to make 187 in their stipulated 20 overs.
